DISH JIP

Promoor Limited was proud to participate in Phase 1 of this Joint Industry Project. This Deepwater Installation of Subsea Hardware (DISH) Joint Industry Project (JIP) being of undertaken by BMT Fluid Mechanics Limited and project managed by Offshore Technology Management Limited, has been set up to address the technical issues surrounding the installation subsea hardware on the very deep seabed.

The objective of JIP is to gain a common understanding of existing technical limitations, and develop feasible, globally acceptable solutions for deploying subsea hardware in water depths of 2,000m and greater.

The pan-industry DISH workshop hosted by BP in London on 1 st November 2000 agreed there are technology gaps that currently render the installation of heavy objects on the deep seabed impossible or uneconomic.

This project will equip operators with the enabling/cost-saving technologies to progress their future deepwater development prospects, and will at the same time provide the installation/supply sector with a commercial focus for developing their capabilities.

The DISH JIP phase 1 commenced on 9 th February 2001.
